Danville Community College Educational Foundation Hosts 3rd Annual Suds, Swine, Sippin' & Song Fundraiser Event

In the world of philanthropy, SUCCESS is often measured by a specific group of pre-defined metrics (i.e. money raised, increase in revenue generated, scholarships awarded year-to-year, endowment growth, percentage of grants won, student and program impact, college support, etc.), and while those metrics drive the daily decisions at the DCC Educational Foundation, what is often overlooked when defining SUCCESS is the EXPERIENCE one has.

DCC Educational Foundation's 3rd Annual Suds, Swine, Sippin' & Song Event's EXPERIENCE and SUCCESS was due to the enormous support by the following who attended: Event Sponsors, Friends and Alumni, Danville Community College Administration, Faculty and Staff, College and Foundation Board Members, and those who helped before, during and after the event.

Danville Community College's entire service region (City of Danville, Halifax County and Pittsylvania County) was represented at the breathtaking venue, Motley's Mill Waterfall Estate. When you see this much support, it is truly because of the desire, commitment and understanding our community members have in wanting to make an impactful difference in the lives of our community college students, faculty and staff. It is humbling and a reminder of why we do what we do!

Remember...EXPERIENCE defines SUCCESS at the DCC Educational Foundation!

GOD'S PIT CREW IMPACT REPORT
The Chamber staff had the pleasure of enjoying lunch and a tour at God's Pit Crew last week. You would not believe this amazing facility and staff. It was moving to see the tremendous impact this organization has had on the nation and the world. There is a sense of pride in knowing the City of Danville has a local organization that is sending crisis relief to people throughout the world.

Their facility has a warehouse for packing supplies and blessing buckets, as well as training areas that recreate what it's like to work in a house or community devastated by a natural disaster.

If you are interested in volunteer opportunities or would like to donate to God's Pit Crew, visit them online at www.godspitcrew.org.

Check out their latest Impact Report and enjoy the photos from our recent visit.
JOIN THE SPCA OF PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY FOR PUP-A-PALOOZA
October 14 | 2:00 P.M- 8:00 P.M.
Rocky Branch Farm- Danville

This organization is completely dependent on fundraisers, donations, grants and their thrift store "The Doggie Bag" for funding their mission. Pup-A-Palooza is their biggest event of the year!

The Doggie Bag is managed and staffed by the SPCA and proceeds are shared with the Pittsylvania Pet Center, where they relocated their store.

They are a small foster-based, all-volunteer non-profit animal rescue group. Formed in 2007 and have been working since then to improve animal welfare and help residents in Pittsylvania County, as well as the City of Danville, with pet-related needs. They provide spay and neuter as well as veterinary care and pet food for citizens in need who ask for help. They also provide TNR (trap neuter and release with rabies vaccine) for feral cats, where property owners will continue to care for but do not want the population to grow.

If you would like to sponsor this event, click the link below to download the application.

For additional information contact Tonja Reynolds with the SPCA of Pittsylvania County (434) 432-0080 or email at tonjareynolds@spcaofpittsylvaniacounty.org.

In order to be featured in their marketing material, sponsorship pledge is needed by August 15.
