It will be cherries galore during our 7th Annual Summer Harvest Cherry Fest on Saturday, July 23rd from 10 am - 5 pm. There will be free guided winery tours, face painting, balloons, wine, beer and farm market food tasting.
Also enjoy live music from 1 - 5 pm by The Johnsons Project, pick your own tart cherries, horse-drawn wagon rides, cherry pie eating contest at 12:30 pm and Cherry Pit Spit at 2:00 pm. For more information visit www.orchardcountry.com. |

Cherry Cobbler  Ingredients Filling: 6 cups tart Montmorency cherries, pitted 1 1/4 cups sugar 1/4 cup water 4 teaspoons cornstarch Topping: 1 cup flour 1/4 cup sugar 1 teaspoon baking powder 2 tablespoons brown sugar 3 tablespoons butter 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1 egg, beaten 3 tablespoons milk Directions Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. In a saucepan combine filling ingredients and cook, stirring until bubbling and thickened. Pour into an 8-inch baking dish. Meanwhile, stir together flour, sugars, baking powder, and cinnamon. Cut in butter, until it is crumbly. Mix together egg and milk. Add to flour mixture and stir with a fork until just combined. Drop topping by tablespoonfuls onto filling. Bake for 25 minutes until browned and bubbly. |
