Brian wasted no time digging into the Nashville Scene and found himself in new surroundings every night such as Tootsies Orchid Lounge, the Commodore, Lyrics, The Douglas Corner, and an extraordinary Caf� owned by an even more amazing woman the Bluebird Caf�. Through an audition he was late for he had a one on one with the owner and played a song that he wrote, she was so impressed she began to introduce him to several respected Songwriters and through those relationships Brian was able to hone his craft of songwriting.

 


About Us

Omar's Uptown opened in November 2011 bringing a long legacy of fantistic food and quality beverage selections to a new location with a different attitude.    Chef Omar Barry and long time friend Bill Hurt set out to create an upscale dining experience with all of the big city feel that could be packed into the walls of a historic downtown Jonesboro Arkansas building.

 

Bill Hurt's philosophy  "There are a lot of places to eat in Jonesboro, but there are only two places to dine" is personified by the experience of a meal in the restaurant.   

 

Chef Omar Barry pushes the envelope of this philosophy by bringing back classic cooking styles and dishes with new and exciting ingredients, techniques, and flavors.  Putting out exceptional food for over 15 years Omar is known for consistency.  Never taking short cuts, allways following through with flavor profiles Omar's Uptown is on the cutting edge of food preparation, technique and quality .

Brian James is driving in from Nashville to host a great time on the Omar's Uptown Patio!  Come watch all of the down town fun from the luxury of our rooftop patio.  The After Work specialty hours menu will be going on from 4pm until 6:30pm both Friday and Saturday.

Space for private functions is filling quickly.  Book your staff christmas party before it is too late!  Room sizes as follows:
