Thank you for opening this newsletter.  We are already getting excited about the 2014 election.  We need your help to keep the momentum that is turning Michigan from a joke into a destination for business as well as tourists.  The Oceana County Republicans are trying to get our message out through various new and exciting ways.  We have a new website, we are on Facebook under Oceanacountygop, and this is our Newsletter to keep our membership informed in between meetings.

So enjoy this and join us at the our next meeting.  As an out-reach effort we continue to move our meeting places around the county.  See left side bar for details.

Our annual Lincoln Day Dinner is all set.

Date:  May 10th, 2014
Time:  5:30 pm Social Hour -- 6:30 Dinner and Auction
Place:  Sadey's Hometown in their Banquet Hall
Address:  134 W. Main st Walkerville Mi.
Cost:  $30 per person.
You can pay by check at the door.

This is a BYOB affair.

Our dinner will be catered by Patty Sadenwater/owner of Sadey's.
The dinner will be buffet style with Chicken Breasts, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Ham, Potato Salad, Salad bar, Corn, Green Beans, Roll and butter.  There will be Coffee and Lemonade.

Our State Senator Goeff Hansen and State Representative will be there and will update us on the happenings in Lansing.  Candidates from around the County will be sure to be there also.

Nick Beyer from Beyer's Auction will be there as he was last year to auction off the items we have gathered from area merchants and individuals.  There should be something in the mix that would appeal to everyone.

Dr. Cindy Ochs along with Juanita Pierman are co-coordinating the decorations, Jerry Frick is using his truck to get the tables we need from his church.  The hall will be open from 8am the day of  for us to get in there to help set it up and decorate.

We are asking those who can to bring an appetizer or a desert. Tammy Hansen is doing asparagus roll ups. A few others have volunteered to bring things.  But we can use any and all you feel like bringing.  We will have a social hour before dinner so any type of finger food whether it be a veggie tray, or cheese tray or pretzels or chips and dip -- whatever you can bring would be great.

For after dinner we are asking for deserts.  Again whatever you can do is fine.  Brownies, cookies, a pie anything would be great.

This is our main fundraiser, this upcoming election could be a great Republican year.  With our proceeds from our Lincoln Day Dinner we will help elect Republican Candidates up and down the ticket.

All are welcome, whether you are a member or not.  Bring a friend or relative.  Bring yourself.

Thanks and Warm Regards,
Bob Carr
GOP County Chair.

SEN. HANSEN AND THE GOVERNOR
Goeff Hansen brings Rick Snyder to Hart
Goeff Hansen

I was lucky enough to attend a Goeff Hansen Fundraiser in Muskegon at which Governor Rick Snyder was the keynote speaker.  With Senator Hansen and the Governor explaining how far we have come from the "Lost Decade" of the previous administration I was again re-rejuvenated in my efforts to work for Republicans up and down the ballot.
Below a couple pics of the Muskegon event.

We've come a long way Baby !!!!!

From there they were headed to a Chamber talk in Muskegon and later to an event in Ludington.  Guess what?  On the way they made a pit stop at Hansen Foods to visit with the rest of the Hansen Clan.

Below is a pic I took of the family and visit.

ADOPT A HIGHWAY
EVEN BETTER THAN LAST TIME !!!

Everyone was glad to see our State Senator and State Representative join with us in our Road Clean up this time.

Senator Goeff Hansen joined Rep. Jon Bumstead and a bunch of Republican and some Citizens from Ferry in a non partisan effort to clean up 4 miles of M-20 between 120th and 140th.  We picked up well over 20 bags of rubbish.

Senator Hansen brought some coffee and I brought some great donuts from Dave Hansen's Grocery.

Our Sign is Finally Up for all to See !!!!

Attend meetings, become a member, be a volunteer to Help us  to keep this momentum up and take our country back.

Sincerely,
Bob Carr
