Coming Up on Capitol Hill
Congressional members from the NEMW region are back from their week-long recess with spending bills and other legislation ready for consideration. The House will review and likely pass the funding bill for the Department of Commerce, which includes the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Manufacturing Extension Partnership. The NEMWI produced an
overview of the current bill, including funding for regionally-important programs and other policy provisions on manufacturing and coal communities. The House may also consider its spending bill for the Departments of Transportation and Housing and Urban Development. A similar
