Neighborhoods in America's Legacy Cities: A Dialogue in Detroit 
 
The American Assembly and the Legacy Cities Partnership will co-sponsor "Neighborhoods in America's Legacy Cities: A Dialogue in Detroit" from September 13-16, 2016 on the campus of Wayne State University. The conference will bring together preservationists, policymakers, planners, developers, and allies to discuss the role of historic preservation in revitalizing America's legacy cities, learn about new tools to identify and leverage historic assets, and help identify new approaches to integrating preservation into community and economic development. EPA Releases Brownfields Guide and Hosts Webinar on Applying for Grants 

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released  "Cleaning Up Brownfields Under State Response Programs - Getting to 'No Further Action." It is a guide for owners of brownfields properties on the general requirements for enterĀ­ing a brownfield into a state cleanup program and the process for attaining a state decision or certification of the need for "no further action" under each state response program. 

EPA is also hosting a webinar this Wednesday, August 17 from 2:00-3:00 PM on the agency's grant opportunities. The webinar will cover: how to find and apply for grant opportunities; EPA's new Grants.gov requirement; and preparing a proper budget detail. No registration is necessary.
