Are You Prepared for Bears?

Spring is here and so are the black bears! Be responsible with bear attractants this spring.

With the arrival of spring, hungry black bears are emerging from winter dens. NH Fish and Game has recommendations to reduce bear-human conflicts - by preventing them in the first place! Here’s what you can do:

  1. Put away your bird feeders.
  2. Protect backyard poultry, livestock, and bees with electric fencing.
  3. Secure dumpsters and garbage cans.
  4. Bring pet and animal feeds indoors.
  5. Never deliberately feed bears – this reduces their chance of survival.
