This week I'm excited to announce the release of a new product manufactured by Gulf Western Oil aptly named " Top Dog Indestructible".

Over the last 15 years of working with Gulf Western we have had the pleasure to be able to help introduce a number of specialised products,  Ice Pack oil & Loco oil are two of them ...

The best part about this company and our relationship is their flexibility when it comes to being able to develop and introduce oils or greases that other manufacturers may see as too much trouble to bring to market.

They have always had a small company feel when it comes to open ideas, with a large company attitude toward productivity and service, stock and supply to the right areas is always at the forefront of their mind.

The introduction of Gulf Western "Top Dog Indestructible" couldn't come at a better time for us, with the classification of CK-4 only being released in January 2017 by the American Petroleum Institute and four months later the products is approved and in production for us to supply.

I personally have friends and associates that have been waiting for this product to hit our stores so we can commence supply and the day has finally come.

That's an incredible achievement and I believe they are leading the way at this point in time.

Yesterday we were in Brisbane at one of the Gulf Western Oil warehouses so we could be trained on the product and be ready for all your questions.

TOP DOG INDESTRUCTIBLE® 15W-40 CK-4 is one of the most exciting, technically advanced lubricants Gulf Western has released.  It has been formulated to meet the newest API service classification, CK-4.  However TOP DOG INDESTRUCTIBLE® 15W-40 CK-4 has been formulated to exceed the specifications of a standard CK-4.

Gulf Western is the first oil company in the world to offer Indestructible additive technology.  It is a special, enhanced formulation that performs well beyond standard API CK-4 technology.  It offers significant reductions in engine wear, improved fuel economy, increased protection against oxidation and longer drain intervals.

Q: Are there other companies offering API CK-4 technology?
A: Yes, however no other oil companies are offering API CK-4 technology formulated with Indestructible additive technology. Our product is very unique.

Q: What approvals does TOP DOG INDESTRUCTIBLE® 15w40 CK-4 have and will it impact warranty?
A: TOP DOG INDESTRUCTIBLE® 15W-40 CK-4 offers the same OEM approvals as other TOP DOG® products.  As the specification is so new, our approvals are due to be finalised shortly.  These approvals include Cummins, Mack, Volvo, Renault and other OEMS.  TOP DOG INDESTRUCTIBLE® 15W-40 CK-4 has undergone a complete API testing
program.  Therefore it offers all the same approvals and protection as any other Gulf Western product.  On the 2nd of May 2017, TOP DOG INDESTRUCTIBLE® 15W-40 CK-4 was formally licensed by the American Petroleum Institute (API).  Gulf Western is the only Australian lubricant manufacturer that offers formal API approval for CK-4.

Q: What are the main benefits of TOP DOG INDESTRUCTIBLE® 15W-40 CK-4
A: Decreased wear, improved fuel economy, improved oxidation and increased drain intervals are the main benefits.  Take the time to review our brochure, attached.  The improved performance is significant over conventional CK-4's.

Q: Is TOP DOG INDESTRUCTIBLE® 15W-40 CK-4 backward with other TOP DOG® products?
A: If being used in diesel engines, TOP DOG INDESTRUCTIBLE® 15W-40 CK-4 is completely backward compatible with TOP DOG GLOBAL® Mineral 15W-40, TOP DOG GLOBAL® Plus 10W-40 and TOP DOG XDO® 15W-40.

Q: Is TOP DOG INDESTRUCTIBLE® 15W-40 CK-4 suitable for use in petrol engines?
A: Modern petrol API specifications place limits on Phosphorus and Zinc levels in petrol or "S" specifications. As TOP DOG INDESTRUCTIBLE® 15W-40 CK-4 was formulated without compromise for Heavy Duty Diesel Engines, it does not have an API SN approval as this would have required different chemistry with less Zinc anti wear additive. TOP DOG INDESTRUCTIBLE® 15W-40 CK-4 is a dedicated, high performance Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Oil.

Q: Is it a Low Saps formulation? Is it suitable for Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF's)?
A: TOP DOG INDESTRUCTIBLE® 15W-40 CK-4 is a low SAPS formulation making it suitable for DPF's calling for CJ-4 or CK-4 Low Saps / Low Ash lubricants.
