Alumni Spotlight 

Gino Wilffert '84 started in stunts in 1989 at Universal Studios in Orlando. They put out a casting call for boat drivers and since he has always been a capable boat driver, Gino applied. Not long after he was hired, Universal Studios brought in professional stuntmen, pyrotechnic people and jet ski drivers to train Gino and his co-workers in stunts. As a result, Gino has acquired skills in stunt car driving, body burns, fight scenes, high falls, repelling, and many others.

 

For Gino, films allow him to "step out of the daily grind." He did give "it up for a while to remain closer to home and [his] family, but everyone is older now," so he has slowly been getting back into stunt work. When he is not performing or coordinating stunts, Gino is busy building his own studio in the Caribbean.

Join Us for Alumni Weekend!

Join your fellow alumni for the second annual alumni weekend from Friday, November 6 to Sunday, November 8, 2015. This year, we are especially welcoming the classes of 1940, 1945, 1950, 1955, 1960, 1965, 1970, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010. Here is what you have to look forward to: 

 

 

Friday, November 6, 2015

 

7 p.m. to 9 p.m. - Alumni social with free drinks for all alumni and their guests compliments of the Montverde Academy Alumni Association. The social will be held at Headwaters Lounge inside of the Rosen Shingle Creek.

 

Saturday, November 7, 2015

 

9 a.m. - Montverde Academy Alumni Association meeting at the Rosen Shingle Creek (room TBA). Breakfast will be available for all alumni association members.

 

10:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. - Campus tours and lunch at Montverde Academy. Transportation will be provided to and from the Rosen Shingle Creek for all alumni and their guests.

 

6 p.m. - Celebrating Education gala at the Rosen Shingle Creek. There will be special reserved tables for alumni at the gala and free babysitting for children of alumni. All alumni and their guests are also welcome to join us for the Alumni and VIP reception before the gala and the after party.

Want to work for Montverde Academy? 

We are hiring an Associate Director of Alumni Relations to work in the Alumni and Development Office at Montverde Academy. The position description is:

 

At the direction of the Director of Development & Government Relations, the Associate Director of Alumni Relations will work in collaboration with the Montverde Academy Alumni Association to ensure we expand Alumni participation in our annual giving, capital campaigns, scholarships and endowment programs. This includes expanding the membership of the Alumni Association. Additionally, will assist in the execution on our Annual Fund campaign strategy that meets our fundraising and participation goals.
