WHAT A WONDERFUL FIRST WEEK!

The first week has been a vibrant and engaging experience for students and staff alike. Kicking off with a school-wide assembly, the atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation for the new academic year. After a round of applause from students as they were welcomed back by Deputy Head of School, Alex Monchamp, new Head of School, Dr. Seth Goldsweig, addressed the students welcoming them to a year filled with possibility! Rabbi Berger led us in prayer for Israel and the six hostages tragically killed in Gaza.

As our older students headed to their classes, 47 incoming Grade 8 students rotated through orientation activities led by enthusiastic Grade 12 students and dedicated Grade 8 teachers, fostering a sense of belonging and community from the very start. Grade 8 students were treated to a lunch of pizza, salad, and Mrs. Berger's special brownies.

The transition into the school routine was smooth, with 270 students quickly settling back into the rhythm of school life. We are so excited to have 62 new students in Grades 8-11 join our King David family! The collective joy of being back together highlighted the power of community that defines King David.

WELCOMING NEW PARENTS

On Thursday evening, we welcomed new parents for a night of schmoozing and information sharing. We always appreciate hearing their thoughts and impressions even after just a few days with us; but most importantly, we want to ensure they feel a part of our school community. Head of School, Dr. Seth Goldsweig, welcomed everyone, introduced the members of the Leadership Team who shared important things to know about life, learning and teaching at King David and then facilitated a Q&A!

OUT IN THE COMMUNITY ALREADY!

On Thursday, our Jewish Life Leader, Orly Naim, and a group of students spent the evening volunteering at the Louis Brier Foundation event. Setting the tone in the first week for the upcoming school year - a year filled with opportunities for community engagement and service. Kol Hakovod to Lev, Noam, Isaac, Fina and Mila for leading the way!
