CHCA supports Ira B Melton Park to increase awareness of Georgia's native plants
In early November, the CHCA board voted to provide a grant of $574 to Friends of Ira B Melton Park to defray part of the cost of installing long-term plant markers for Melton Park. The replacement markers are metal with etched lettering from Precision Signs and Labels and will replace plastic markers that are wearing out. The markers are part of an ongoing effort to educate the public about Georgia’s native plants. Many of the plants to be labeled were put in the ground by neighborhood volunteers over the course of a 10-year ecology rehabilitation project!
