VOTE on Tuesday to Fund Road Improvements
SPLOST II is on the Ballot

On Tuesday, 11-07-2023, DeKalb County voters will decide two important referendums:

  • SPLOST II will fund critical road and infrastructure improvements;
  • EHOST will provide tax relief for qualified homeowners.

Both SPLOST II and EHOST must be approved by voters for either to go into effect.

Improvements for projects such as our entry intersection
depend on funding mechanisms like SPLOST II.
SPLOST II Description:

The DeKalb County Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST II) is a one-cent sales tax that provides funding exclusively for capital projects such as roads, buildings, vehicles, major equipment and other long-term improvements.

Approved in November 2017, the current SPLOST I will run through 2023, generating more than $388 million. If approved, SPLOST II is expected to generate $850 million over the next six years for capital improvements countywide.

EHOST Description:

Approved in 2017, the current Equalized Homestead Option Sales Tax (EHOST) will reach $738 million when it expires at the end of 2023.

If approved, EHOST tax relief will reduce or offset property tax liability to DeKalb homeowners who qualify for a homestead exemption. EHOST is projected to save DeKalb homeowners $1 billion over a six-year period.

Clairmont Heights Facebook Page now a Private Group
Last month, the CHCA Board converted our Facebook page into a private group. Our goals are to provide more robust review of participants as neighbors, prevent the use of our page for advertising and spam, and to limit the view of resident comments and information to an appropriate audience to the extent that Facebook's mechanisms allow.

The Board asks that all neighbors who use our Facebook page provide contact information using the Google Form linked below to help us verify neighbors. Many thanks to everyone that filled in the google form so far.
