A Message From Our President

Members, Supporters and Friends of the Branch,

First and foremost, thank you all for your outpouring of support during the transition of leadership within the Branch and the Fairfax social justice community. I could not have done this without you.

The pursuit of social justice is ongoing, and our branch committees remain dedicated to advocating for necessary reforms in housing, education, criminal and environmental justice, and economic policies, among other crucial areas.

The Fairfax County NAACP has been actively engaged in serving you. Over the past few months, we've achieved significant milestones, including:

  • Launching our 2024 Advocacy Agenda. To review a copy, please visit our website here.
  • Successfully hosting a well-attended Black History Month Program themed "Black Excellence."
  • Hosting our Annual Women’s Day Program.
  • Featuring guest speakers at the County Budget and County Fair Housing Meetings.

As you may know, Virginia holds elections annually. Your vote is one of the most impactful contributions you can make to yourself and your community. Given the often narrow margins in elections, it's vital that your voice is heard. Learn more about Virginia elections at elections.virginia.gov.

Our annual Freedom Fund Gala is scheduled for November 2nd. Join us for an evening of networking, music, food, and fun, all in support of a worthy cause.

Currently, we are seeking sponsors for this significant fundraiser event. If you're interested in sponsoring the event, please find the Sponsorship packet here.

Donations to the Fairfax County NAACP are crucial for sustaining our advocacy for racial justice. We rely on the support of individuals and businesses in our community to continue our work against injustice. Your gift will be used 100% in support of our advocacy on behalf of Black people and people of color in Fairfax County. For donation information please click here.

We continue to need YOUR engagement and involvement in EVERY advocacy effort. Consider joining or renewing your membership today. If you haven't yet joined a committee, we encourage you to sign up today.

Together In Service,

Niki Zimmerman

Proud President, Fairfax County NAACP
