School Closings Make-Up Days Announced

District 153 will make up the two days in February that our schools were closed for extreme temperatures on the following two dates: • Monday, March 4, school will be in session on Casimir Pulaski Day.      • Friday, June 7, will be the last day of school. Although we hope to avoid bringing staff and students back during the week of June 10th, there is still plenty of winter and possible emergency school closings ahead. Please keep this possibility in mind when making your family’s summer plans. Click here for the revised 2018-19 school calendar.

Dr. Mitchell has been named a 2019 "Superintendent of Distinction" from South Cook by the Illinois Association of School Administrators. In the same vein as television's "Undercover Boss," Dr. Mitchell has been shadowing various district staff members.

James Hart Announces ISYM Scholarship Winners

These 7th-graders may be looking forward to summer even more than the rest of us. They will be attending the Illinois Summer Youth Music (ISYM) Camp at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with the help of half tuition scholarships from our Parent Music Association. The PMA has been sending deserving 7th-grade music students to ISYM since the early 1950s. ISYM brings over 1,000 students and 150 faculty and staff together for three weeks of intense music-making. In addition to the music, students get to experience a taste of college life at a Big Ten University, living and eating in a dormitory close to the School of Music. Congratulations to these wonderful student musicians!
