Talk Radio Europe interviews Barbara

Talk Radio Europe

On the 10th March 2011 Barbara was invited to comment on Talk Radio Europe on the Hannah Murray show about an article in the Daily Mail discussing sex education in primary schools. Barbara believes that we should follow examples of countries like Holland where sex education is delivered quite naturally through the whole of the school curriculum and yet teenagers in Holland are older when they have their first sex and are more likely to use protection. In Holland SRE places a greater emphasis on respect and protection, a very different situation to the U.K where young men in particular learn less from schools and parents and more from peers and from other sources like internet pornography. In spite of the evidence from Holland, opponents of Barbara's view believe that talking about sex too soon will encourage early experimentation.

Thanks for reading our March News.  We look forward to hearing from you and being your SRE resources and training provider in the next year.
