32nd Annual Charity Ball! A Virtual Celebration
January 30, 2021 at 8:00 PM

Free to Register and Watch!

Presented by ASAP Plumbing, GenOn, Peter & Co. Jewelers, and PowerOn Generators, the Charity Ball might look a little differently this year, but it will still be a wonderful night of celebration!

This event is our biggest fundraiser, and while we wish we could be gathering everyone together like we have for the last 31 years, unfortunately we cannot.  Instead, we are planning something special that we think will be fun and still provide you with opportunities to win fabulous auction items and raffle prizes!

Thank You for Holiday Assistance Support!

Hopeful Hearts, Stronger Together. The theme of the 2021 Charity Ball also defines how our community comes together to help the residents of Avon and Avon Lake, especially during this ongoing pandemic.

At CRS, our top priority is ensuring the safety, health and well-being of our clients, volunteers and staff, so Santa's Workshop had to look a little differently this year. We would normally give parents the opportunity to select a coat, gifts, and pajamas for each of their children but this year we had volunteers shop for them. Each family also received Christmas stockings and a family basket, non-perishable food and a gift card for perishables. Not to be forgotten, senior citizens also received a holiday gift bag.

Santa's Workshop is stocked entirely from donations we receive from local individuals, church groups, businesses, civic organizations, giving trees and schools. Each donation comes with individual thought and kindness that we have the pleasure of passing along to the families we serve. Without the support of our generous community, we would not be able to offer this kind of holiday assistance.

There are far too many people and groups to acknowledge here, as we received more than 125 individual donations. We are grateful for each and every one of you. Some of our larger contributions came from the following: Avon PTA, Holy Trinity Church, Concrete and More, GenOn, Hinckley Lighting, Avon Lake Police Department, Christ Church Westshore, Avon Lake United Church of Christ and Avon-On-The-Lake Garden Club. Special thanks to Bucky Kopf, VIP Property Management, for providing the space where we held our Santa's Workshop.

All of the donations brightened the lives of 135 Avon and Avon Lake families (57 seniors, 192 adults and 311 children). Thank you to everyone who helped us make this holiday season a special time for our CRS families. We are so fortunate to live in such a caring community.

Please accept our best wishes for the New Year!

CRS has truly been blessed with many donations of non-perishable items for our food pantry.

Our food pantry exists thanks to so many who generously donate.  We currently are in need of cleaning supplies, especially all-purpose cleaners, liquid dish soap, laundry detergent, Clorox wipes and paper towels, as well as canned fruit and jelly. We do not need any canned vegetables right now.

Thank you for your generous support in helping to keep our pantry stocked!
