We are so excited to be partnering with the Center of Science and Industry (COSI), the Ohio Library Council and the Avon Lake Public Library to distribute these Learning Lunchbox Kits! These boxes, historically created to be distributed alongside meal programs, provide five activities aligned with Ohio’s learning standards and promote science, technology, engineering, arts, math (STEAM), culture, history, and more. The Learning Lunchboxes are tailored to specific themes, such as Space, created in partnership with NASA. We are thrilled to have the opportunity for our clients to receive these educational and fun learning boxes!
Ohio Library Council and COSI will distribute thousands of COSI Learning Lunchbox Kits to each Library District in Ohio as part of Ohio Distance Learning Initiative.

On behalf of the families that we serve, we would like to thank the participants, volunteers, donors and sponsors who made the 2021 Hooks for Hunger Walleye Tournament a huge success! This year’s event raised over $32,000 bringing the total raised since 2013 to almost $178,000! All proceeds go directly to supporting our mission of diminishing the effects of poverty for our neighbors in Avon and Avon Lake.
Special thanks to the Hooks for Hunger volunteer committee: Ed Moran, Brian Belmont, Scott Bruegger, Moses Yonkers, Tyler Randall, Tony Tomanek, Joe Reitz, Jim DePaul, Craig Lewis and Sean Boutin. This group puts in hundreds of hours of hard work to ensure that Hooks for Hunger is a success!

Our food pantry exists thanks to so many who generously donate. We currently are in need of boxed macaroni & cheese, jelly, pasta sauce (in plastic jars please), dish soap, toilet paper and small (40 oz.) liquid laundry detergent. We do not need any canned vegetables right now.
Thank you for your generous support in keeping our pantry stocked!
