| YEARBOOK NEWS | |
At the beginning of the year Carwise yearbooks went on sale. Students who pre-purchased yearbooks will be getting passes to pick up their yearbooks next month. Those students will receive a pass in their first period class, which they will sign in front of their first period teacher. The pass will allow the student to leave class when their names are called. When the student's last initial is called over the intercom, show your pass to your teacher and come out to the yearbook distribution area. Students will turn in the pass, sign for the yearbook, and write their name in the hard cover of the yearbook before leaving the table. Then they can go back to class and enjoy the gorgeous book! |
| Summer Camp Information | |
St. Petersburg College - College for Kids would like to inform you and your students of the SAM (science, art and math) CAMP specialty program being offered this summer. In this two-week program, curious campers will learn how science, math and art come together in the real world in a fun and hands-on environment. The artistic elements of common math and science lessons are extracted and developed into lessons that introduce and reinforce math and science concepts. Campers will learn lessons such as the art and science of pigmentation; weights and balances by creating mobiles; and concepts of patterns and symmetry. SAM camp brings art to life and turns abstractions into concrete reality. Camp curriculum organized and run by state certified teachers.
The College for Kids SAM CAMP specialty program is held at the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art on the St. Petersburg College Tarpon Springs campus. The attached flyer can be downloaded or forwarded to parents or other faculty who might be interested. SAM CAMP offers parents "sibling discounts" making it a simple summer solution for harried parents.
We welcome your efforts to inform your students of this fun-filled, summer program. You may visit our website at www.spcollege.edu/c4k for more information, send a message to this e-mail address or call 727.341.3000.
