Sweet Talking the Animals

According to a recent National Geographic article, a higher pitch voice gets the attention of dogs more than the lower tones.

If accused of talking "baby talk" to your dog, science is on your side for getting their attention.

Dogs are sensitive to acoustic properties in the human voice.

Scientifically called "dog-directed speech", dogs spend more time with humans that use such techniques. Often the human is unaware of their automatic speech changes when talking to dogs.

Humans also use a "sing-song" style when talking to cats.

Cat's rely primarily on visual and vocal signals to get their human to serve them.

A linguistic researcher in, Sweden
Suzanne Schotz, is presently working on "melody in human-cat communication" to help define our communication styles.

Humans often use a higher pitch range and melodic tone to get a cat's attention.

After kittenhood, a wide variety of meows are used
by cat's to get a human's attention.

A daily inspection under the tail is a necessary task.

Looking for rice like segments can reveal a tapeworm infection internally.

There are two ways of becoming infected, ingesting a flea or by ingesting an infected mammal.

Please bring in a any odd findings under the tail for inspection and proper identification. Thankfully proper medications can clear the parasite from the intestines.

And they are off.
