Delicious Coffee and Housemade Treats and Sandwiches Await at Calypso's Cove
Calypso's Cove, a charming new coffee shop, located at 311 Capitola Avenue opened its doors last week.
Owner and Chef, Justina Hillabrandt has spent the last few months getting the building ready and finding the best coffee roaster, beverages, and treats for the shop. The coffee
shop business is in
her blood, her Grandmother owned a shop in San Francisco and her mother and sister had a shop in Idaho, which she helped to get up and running. A local, she has worked in the
catering business here for the past 15 years.
Calypso's Cove features organic premium roast, fair trade coffee from Batdorf and Bronson, Flying Bird Botanicals specialty teas and Cacao (a drinkable chocolate). The shop is cozy and smells delicious, with fresh baked banana bread wafting through the air. Scones, brownies, cupcakes, breakfast burritos, paninis and sandwiches are also available. There is a bowl filled with irresistible salted carmel, infused with honey and lavender on the counter. Justina makes all of the treats, burritos, sandwiches and caramel herself, mostly with organic ingredients and no corn syrup.
Stop by and try some delicious coffee and of course, don't forget to get a fresh homemade scone or sandwich! Calypso's is open Monday, Wednesday-Friday 7-2, Saturday and Sunday 8-5 and closed on Tuesday. Hours will likely be extended in the summer months. You can reach them at 831-477-9363.
