Our New Newsletter: The Adventure Island NewsFebruary/2011

From the Executive Tower....

Welcome to this edition of the Adventure Island News!! A special welcome, too, to those of you who are receiving this letter for the first time as a new camper at C.A.C. - the News is produced regularly throughout the year and helps keep us all up to date with the latest stuff from camp!   We hope you enjoyed the winter and now that we are in March, are dreaming of beautiful days on Adventure Island to start in just another 3 months!!

My holiday season began at the end of December with the wedding in Scotland of Anna (Program Director) and Justin (Camp Director) - yes - they are really married!   I witnessed the ceremony along with Tom and Nada Zivic (and others) and can confirm that Mr. and Mrs. Justin Gerson are legally married!!

Back at home, we immediately plunged into the Camp Fair season and along with the fairs we (C.A.C) run in Quebec City and Newmarket, we attended many run by others in Ontario.   At the same time, we are working full blast in the office processing registrations everyday. I hope you have already registered for our Great Season of 2011 as programs and spaces at camp are filling fast. If you haven't got your spot yet, call us first to make sure we can fit you in - we don't like turning anyone down >coz there's no room, so we'll try and make it work for you.

This Month's Buzzzzzzzzz: Our main cannon engineer is planning a visit with us in June, just before camp begins, to give the cannon better zing and distance - so watch out for lots of super fun this summer!

Well - that's it from the tower for now - staff and LIT news will come next month!

Til next time.........be kind to each other!

TO DO LIST:

REGISTER FOR CAMP!

That's right, 'tis the season for getting your spot at Canadian Adventure Camp ASAP! Pass this information along to all of your friends and family that might be interested in sending their children to their first camping experience! New parents sending their children to camp for the first time are often faced with heartache when they register too late for camp. Dates for registration may seem early, but here at CAC it is important to us to accommodate all of our alumni and our new campers, with the camp experience always paramount in our minds. Ensuring that everyone is comfortable and that we maintain excellent camper to staff ratios is a task we do not take lightly. We take our time preparing for campers arrival: training our staff for every camper's needs and wants.

And it is with our camper's experience in mind that we present this new issue of Adventure Island News. In this issue we will be showcasing some of the more non-traditional activities that you will only find at CAC like: Mud Pit, Water Slides, Gyro, Tarzan Swing, Swedish Sauna, and everyone's favourite - the See Saw.

Send this newsletter to a friend if you think they should be registering now also:

Canadian Adventure Camp Activities
Mud Pit

The Mud Pit
During the regular school year, parents are always concerned with keeping kids clean and tidy; and while we are adamant about keeping clean here at CAC, a little Mud Pit is never frowned upon. Finally! You can jump and play in the mud you have been dreaming about. Roll around in your bathing suits and feel the squishy mud between your toes. This is an activity that is exclusive to Canadian Adventure Camp, and nothing will make you feel quite as fulfilled as jumping head first into a big warm, squishy Mud Pit; we are surprised parents haven't taken the opportunity to take the pit for a spin during visitor's day.

moonwalk

Water Slides and Moonwalks

While most Canadian camps have waterfront real estate, here at CAC we take it to the next level: we are surrounded! CAC is located on beautiful Adventure Island, and we take full advantage of our prime locale: Water Trampolines, Moonwalks and Water Slides, oh my! Enjoy the full range of our water sports during the Great Summer of 2011. Test your bravery and take a run along the Moonwalk and feel the weightlessness of outer space - if you fall off - not to worry you will go fall right into the lovely Lake Temagami. Our 2 giant Water Slides will also dump you directly into the crystal clear waters of the Temagami. And if you are feeling truly up for the challenge, the Tarzan swing is for you! Soar through the air directly into the water below, nothing could be more exhilarating!

Seesaw

The Seesaw & Sauna

The Seesaw: it was the childhood past time of so many of our camper's parents, and it is almost impossible to find in a modern day playground! Here at CAC we have the seesaw at our playgrounds, and it is still every kid's favorite. Another favourite is the sauna: what better way to end day than in a nice relaxing sauna? Here at CAC we give children the experience of a Swedish sauna, a safe and warm wood sauna followed by a quick dip in the lake. Ahh, now that is relaxing and invigorating!

Can't wait to see you all soon, for our Great Summer of 2011!
