Citizens who wish to provide public comment are invited to attend public meetings or can provide comment by dialing in by phone at the published time. To provide dial-in comment, call toll-free 888-475-4499 or 877-853-5257 and enter the Meeting ID 899 4188 8251 and passcode #. Callers will be provided further instruction during the meeting on how to indicate you wish to speak.

The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has accepted a memorandum of agreement with many of the county’s volunteer fire, rescue and emergency medical services (EMS) departments to implement a centralized EMS transport billing system.


EMS transport billing enables fire, rescue and EMS companies to recover some of the costs of providing ambulance transportation.

The Linda L. Kelley Animal Shelter is offering reduced adoption fees through Nov. 23, 2022. 


Regular adoption qualifications and procedures still apply. Adoption fees cover services that include age-appropriate vaccinations, spay or neuter, microchipping, heartworm testing for dogs and feline leukemia virus and feline immunodeficiency virus testing for cats.


The Linda L. Kelley Animal Shelter is located at 5055 Hallowing Point Road, in Prince Frederick. Shelter hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Calvert County Commission for Women is now accepting nominations for its 2023 Outstanding Achievement Awards. Each year, the commission recognizes Calvert County women and girls who are models of outstanding achievement and have made significant contributions to our community. 


The nomination form is available online at www.Calvert-Women.org. Completed nominations must be submitted no later than Dec. 15, 2022, to CalvertWomen@gmail.com.
