Greetings!Passover in Hong Kong
We hope that your Passover Dinner was as delicious as ours this year. In hong Kong there was no problem with any leaven, Chinese don't eat bread. We had rice cakes for Matzot. We were especially attentive to the Chinese Christians in Beijing now being persecuted by the government. Teaching the Chinese people about Israel and the Exodus and the hope of Freedom in Messiah in the Passover was so relevant to them. Just look at the joy on their faces. We love these people!

Jewish Wedding Chinese Style
Michaella performed magnificently at the Jewish Wedding Concert in Hong Kong. Over 800 local Chinese clapped and danced the Hora in celebration. We used the opportunity to teach about the God's blessing on commitment and the need for strong families.

Returning back home...
we were so pleased to find the congregation investing in building strong families. Last week there was a special Family Service to encourage our young families. Before that we celebrated Bat Mitzvah's and new born babies. This week in our Training Center we are learning about building strong relationships between spouses, with children and in the congregation.

Next week the Salm family from Germany will be visiting with us and we are looking forward to a special time with this Noble family. The Salm's come from a long line of nobility and have a special love for Israel. They have been one of the key families in helping Yad b'Yad from the beginning.

Bigger is not always better...

Like most kids my age I hated school.  For me it wasn't the mass of homework or the boring teachers. It wasn't getting up every morning, every single morning, at 6:45 a.m., early, every, single, morning. And it didn't bother me walking five miles to school through the New England blizzards, or the hurricanes, the torrential downpours, snowstorms, coastal floods or Nor' Easterner's.

I didn't even mind not being chosen for the football, basketball, hockey, baseball, tennis or chess teams. I hated school because of David Cohen... Read more...
As always, we love to hear from you, and look forward to the next time we can have this little email chat.

All the best and Shalom from Beit Immanuel.
