Bessie Hershey Religious School Shabbat
This Saturday, October 1

Please join us this Shabbat morning, October 1, as part of our continued 150th anniversary Special Shabbatot celebrations, as we honor Bessie Hershey Religious School and its dedicated families.

We will celebrate its terrific contribution to the synagogue and the community as a whole, and see the great influence it had on so many young lives. We will learn about both the past and the present and hear from a few dynamic speakers! Come hear past Education Director, Susan Wyner as she reflects on her time here. Come and see as we call all of our past and present students and teachers to the bima for a meaningful group Aliyah!

You are invited to stay after the service for a celebratory luncheon.

Leadership Shabbat * October 15

Every great community is made up of greater individual elements, and B'nai Jeshurun is no exception. Part of what has kept us strong for 150 years, is the wonderful lay leadership that has always surrounded and supported us.

We would be remiss if we didn't have an occasion to thank and celebrate all they have done for this synagogue at large. Please join us as we honor the past leadership of B'nai Jeshurun, Beth Am and Bethaynu as well as the present leadership at B'nai Jeshurun.

We will hear reflections from a few dynamic members, have a group aliyah dedicated to all leadership in attendance, and reminisce over old photographs, memorabilia and mementos.

Following services, the celebration will continue with a birthday cake to celebrate the actual 150th anniversary, as well as the dedication of the 150th Anniversary Commemorative quilt that was so carefully completed over the past 14 months by Arlene Harris, Jan Greenberg, Margie Cohen, Natalie Bluestone, Sonnie Martin and Stephanie Lipscomb.
