Spring has Sprung!! Well, at least it has here in Spokane. Hope you are enjoying whatever kind of outdoors you can. I am preparing for a big event in my life...my own set of solo handbells!
Now, I have owned used sets of bells before but I have never purchased a new set. This is something I have aimed for forever. For those of you who are soloists or bell tree players or other instrumentalists, you understand how important it is to have your own instrument to practice on. I know, you can always "borrow them" but owning your own comes with a special sense of "I can do so much more!"

For example, I could've played a solo for the recently completed virtual Siskiyou Handbell Summit. Thanks to the presenters and everyone who chipped in to assist in conversations after the sessions. While that was a fun event, the Area 10 2021 Conference event on June 25th and 26th is going to be an absolute blast! We are going Glo-Bell and including conductors from all over the world! The link for this will soon be found on the HMA page and our Area 10 page. You will not want to miss this!
Finally, know that we are continuing to be hopeful that we will be able to have in-person events again soon. If we all just keep to our guns and continue to mask up, wash our hands and stay socially distanced (oh, and get our vaccinations!), we will be ringing together before you know it!! Keep hanging in there and see you at the June Area 10 Conference!!

Greater Puget Sound Handbell Conference is coming May 22nd! |

Mark your calendars! Bells of the Sound will be hosting the Greater Puget Sound Handbell Conference on May 22, 2021. The event will feature virtual ring-along rehearsals under the direction of clinician Stephanie Rhoades, conductor and artistic director of Concert Bells of Fort Worth. BOTS members will also be teaching a couple of class sessions and present a panel discussion to answer any bell-related questions you may have - see if you can stump the panelists! |

The 2021 AREA 10 Conference will be Virtual. Since “virtual” allows us to think big, we did. Area 10 invited clinicians from around the globe. We start Friday night and will end by 3pm on Saturday. Friday night will spot light clinicians from Asia, on Saturday we visit with clinicians from Scotland, Brazil, Canada and the US. We will offer a Virtual Massed Ring, conducted by Ellie Hodder, which will happen on Saturday. Watch this space for more details or contact Diane Barnes, the Area 10 Events Chair:
