handbell choir in the Portland, Oregon metro area, is seeking an experienced music director. This is a paid, contract position. Music directing experience required.

Area 10 Conference June 22-24
There's still time to register! Since the April 1 deadline falls on a Sunday, the postmark deadline for the $180 registration fee is April 2. After that it is $200. Also, for those who sent in a deposit, the balance due must be postmarked by April 2 or the higher $200 rate will apply.
All the information including Dr. Payn's rehearsal notes are in the links in the article below as well as on our website, area10.handbellmusicians.org. Under the batons of William Payn and Shirley Lindberg, you will take the music to new heights of musicality.
Please remember the pre-conference Directors' Seminar with William Payn on Friday, June 22, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. This is a wonderful opportunity to sharpen your skills. It is $60 through April 2, then $80.
If you are unable to open any of the forms, please email me and I will gladly send them to you as attachments or, if you prefer, snail mail them to you.

Handchime Loan Program
 Area 10 wishes to strongly encourage schools to develop music programs using handchimes or handbells. To support the development of such programs, the area has established a grant program for schools that includes the loan of a 3 octave set of handchimes plus curriculum and music for a school year. There are seven sets available. The application deadline is June 1.

Bells of the Sound Concerts
With its cool sounds and hot rhythms, the musical genre of jazz has a little something for everyone. Join Bells of the Sound for a journey through the history of this American art form as they perform jazz standards such as In the Mood, St. Louis Blues and Take Five along with several original compositions arranged especially for this program. You'll be tapping your toes and snapping your fingers like the coolest hepcat before you know it!
