Series Title: 'Cultivate'

This series explores the interconnectedness of existence, time and nature. How do we grow and change, what is carried within us or beyond? The past and future is a part of us in the present. Our ancient ties are alive within us and we are also reborn throughout our lives from experience and circumstance. How much or how little we change is both within and beyond our control. We are independent and predestined within existence.

Marcia Wood-Mertinooke is an artist living and working in NH. She received her BA in Studio Art from UNH. She has participated in several artists collectives and currently is a member of the New Hampshire Women's Caucus for the Arts. She paints and draws during her son's unpredictable sleeping patterns.
