Club Profile - National Practice Data

If you are listed as a Club Admin in SWIMS, please login to your USA Swimming account and explore your team's area located in Club > My Club. We have been getting quite a few questions asking how to do some pretty basic things available in the club profile. And while the new SWIMS is not perfect, there are still some powerful resources within your club profile to help manage your team.

One of these resources is the recently unveiled National Practice Data Project. USA Swimming has sent out a few emails regarding this program, but I wanted to remind you that the deadline for the first round of data is Sunday, October 22. The three test sets are not cumbersome, so you still have time to work this into your practices. Follow this link to learn more, and you can download the spreadsheets in your club profile area.

Athlete Protection Training Course Reset

USA Swimming is resetting the courses for Athlete Protection Training on October 25. This "reset" means that anyone currently in the middle of taking the Core Course or one of the Refresher courses needs to complete those prior to October 24. If not, they will have to start over. To be clear, this probably does not affect many people, but you may want to reach out to your officials and older athletes.

New Officials

Members of our Officials Committee have been engaged in an active campaign to recruit more officials to help with swim meets. We have had several clubs initiating new officials training clinics as well. For all new officials in registration year 2024 associated with a full year club, Missouri Valley will provide a new Speedo Officials polo and a name badge once. Once an official has completed all their training, their six shadow sessions, and been recommended for advancement, they can reach out to Joe Farthing in order to make arrangements. Coaches, please consider reaching out to some of your parents and ask if they would be willing to volunteer.

Your Form C is Overdue!

Or, maybe the only clubs with swimmers competing in high school swimming are NLU, MSA, CSC, and KCSA. Thank you to those clubs submitting their forms prior to the deadline.

Do you know Greg? Did you know that not submitting your Form C to Greg makes his job a lot harder? Are you familiar with how cumbersome the new SWIMS platform has been over the past year? Imagine Greg uploading the meet results of high school meets with hundreds of swimmer names and not having any data to cross reference. How many times have you contacted Greg for a favor or assistance with meet entries or a backup or a console issue? Please do him a solid and get your Form C's submitted to him before these conference and State meets. We even made it simpler for you by putting all the high schools in and requiring only one form per season.

FORM C

As most of you know, we ask that each club complete a Form C to help us identify your athletes swimming high school for import to SWIMS. This is a very labor intensive process, as every athlete needs to be identified manually and their IDs need to be added/matched. In an effort to make this a little bit easier, we are asking clubs to fill out one Form C per state and season and there are a few rules we would like clubs to follow.

MV Future Stars 10 & Under Camp

Registration is now open below. The MV Future Stars Camp is a special camp just for our 10 and under swimmers! All swimmers must be ten years old or younger on Dec. 10, 2023 AND be a USA Swimming member registered with Missouri Valley. Camp participants are also highly encouraged to enter the NLU 10 & Under Future Stars meet on Sunday, December 10 (must enter the meet separately).

This clinic will focus on starts and turns, camaraderie, and fun! Each participant will receive a camp cap and shirt.

Date: Saturday Dec. 9, 2023

Time: 10 am-11:30 am OR 2-3:30pm - Please participate in one session only.

Cost: $15

We are still looking for a couple of coaches to participate in this camp and be on our All Stars staff. No experience required!!

Manage Offerings!

Remember that someone using your registration link will have the option to select every membership type toggled from the Manager Offerings pill in the Registration tab. You may want to consider deselecting lesser used membership types such as Administrator, Other, Coach, and Season 2 Athlete except in specific instances. Once a registration type is selected and purchased, the membership cannot be transferred to another type. They will need to request a refund and then proceed through the registration process once more. This has been quite the encumbrance for some. Please help your parents make the correct choices!
