Together, the US Senate and House of Representative makes up the US Congress. US Congress serves as a checks and balance between the three branches of government. Duties include: introduce bills and resolutions, offer amendments and serve their constituents.

PROPOSED CONSTITUIONAL AMENDMENTS
(Fairfax County, Town of Herndon, and City of Fairfax)

Q1 - Should a county, city, or town be authorized to provide a partial tax exemption for real property that is subject to recurrent flooding, if flooding resiliency improvements have been made on the property? Yes or No

Q2 - Shall the real property tax exemption for a primary  residence that is currently provided to the surviving spouses of veterans who had a one hundred percent service-connected, permanent, and total disability be amended to allow the surviving spouse to move to a different primary residence and still claim the exemption? Yes or No

FAIRFAX COUNTY BOND ISSUE - PUBLIC SAFETY
(Fairfax County and Town of Herndon Only)

Q1 - Shall Fairfax County, Virginia, contract a debt, borrow money, and issue bonds in the maximum aggregate principal amount of $182,000,000 to provide funds, in addition to funds from public safety facilities bonds previously authorized, to finance, including reimbursement to the County for temporary financing for, the costs of public safety facilities, including the construction, reconstruction, enlargement, renovation and equipment of civil and criminal justice facilities, police training and operational facilities and stations, fire and rescue training facilities and stations, including fire and rescue stations owned by volunteer organizations, and the acquisition of necessary land? Yes or No

        Valid US Passport
        Other government-issued ID card must be issued by the US
Government, Virginia or a political subdivision


On Election Day Tuesday, November 6th, the polls will be open from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm. 

If you are in line by 7:00 pm you must be allowed to cast your ballot. DO not leave the line until you vote!

Branch Elections
Mark your calendars for the election of branch officers and at-Large members.

The election will be held on Saturday November 10th from 10 am - 2 pm at Kings Park Library, 9000 Burke Lake Rd, Burke, VA 22015 .

In order to vote in the election, you must be a Fairfax County NAACP branch member 30 days prior to the election. There will be no Absentee Ballots.
