We're having a bit of a treasure hunt in the shop this weekend to help start the countdown to the Shop Hop. Be sure to keep reading for details...


So many of you have asked about my absence the last couple of weeks (or the lack of newsletters). I've been having a bit of a vacation/staycation with my family. It's been really nice to first spend time with my family from down south then take a couple of weeks this summer to recharge my batteries so that I'm ready for this fall.

In fact I'm just popping in before the last hurrah. It's Anna's 18th birthday this weekend, so we're joining them for a little camping by Lake Michigan.

The upside to my time off has been lots of knitting time. Remember my Kauni blanket that I mentioned in the last newsletter?

Here it looked a little like this last time you saw it:

A second skein joined the first & now the blanket is all grown up!

Kauni Blanket

It ended up a great lap blanket size, right around 36"x36". I've already used it at an outdoor concert (the night I finished it actually) and it was the perfect blanket. Small & light enough to fit in my purse, but very warm once the sun came down. I'm thinking about knitting myself one of my own since this one is living in the shop. I might use 3 balls and start with a long strip in the center, so the final blanket is rectangular. I'd love it to be around 54"x36" and 3 balls would be plenty.

I did wash my blanket and it fluffed & softened really nicely. It's in the shop if anyone wants to feel how Kauni is in a finished project.

We got our first of 2 or 3 fall Kauni shipments in. This shipment featured our favorite colors & some new colors from last spring and this fall! EQ (Rainbow) should be back in stock in a week or two, then we're expecting a big order in mid-September. Here's a few of my favorite colors that came in this week.

A weekend Treasure Hunt!

 

To help get everyone in the mood for this years Shop Hop we're hosting a little bit of an early Treasure Hunt.

 

So what are you trying to find?

 

well, a while back we switched to new price stickers & we've been slowly changing over items as new shipments arrive, but we still have about 20% of the stock or so with old tags. They pop up in the strangest places sometimes.   

 

So this weekend we're sending you on a hunt,
all items with our old stickers are 30% off this weekend!  

 

These yarns may have been in the shop for a little over a year, but there are some real finds... Names like Debbie Bliss, Rowan, Noro, Malabrigo...
