Bishop in China Dies in Prison, Hailed as Saint, Authorities Hide Body

2/11/2015 China (The Christian Post)

Bishop Cosma Shi Enxiang, of the Episcopal Church, disappeared into police custody in 2001. The Bishop spent a total of 54 years, on and off, in prison for his faith; more than half his life. News has surfaced that the Bishop, 93, passed away in prison. However, the family has yet to be given his body, something they are waiting for-even if it is just the ashes. The government seems to be hiding his body in fear of "possible demonstrations" at his funeral.

In Letter Written in ISIS Captivity, Kayla said, "I have surrendered myself to our creator..."

2/10/2015 Iraq (FoxNews)

Kayla Mueller, the American woman taken hostage by the self-declared Islamic State, has died, her family and the White House said in separate statements. On February 6, the Islamic State said Mueller, 26, died after Jordanian airstrikes against the militant group targeted the building in Syria where she was being held. Kayla Mueller wrote her family a heart-wrenching letter nearly a year ago before her death, possibly from the bowels of a Raqqa, Syria, building that U.S. special forces raided on July 4, 2014, only to learn Mueller - and at least three other hostages who were later killed - had been moved days earlier. "If you could say I have 'suffered' at all throughout this whole experience it is only in knowing how much suffering I have put you all through," wrote Mueller.

New Jersey Student Wins Case to Keep 'Under God' in Pledge of Allegiance

2/6/2015 United States (FoxNews)

New Jersey high school student Samantha Jones has won a major victory against the American Humanist Association's efforts to strip the phrase "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance. After an unnamed family sued the school district in February 2014, claiming discrimination, Jones decided to fight back for her rights. State Superior Court Judge Bauman concluded that there was no evidence to support that those who filed the lawsuit were "bullied, ostracized or in any way mistreated."

  • Pray that the decision to keep "One nation, under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance will be upheld
  • Pray against the silencing of Christians in schools
