Education in Kenya Suffers at the Hands of Al-Shabab Extremists
The Somali extremist group Al-Shabab in Kenya, Africa has been disrupting education in the region with its brutal attacks, causing panic and fear among not just Christians, but educators and students alike. Last year around Christmas, 28 people riding on a bus, mostly teachers, were separated by religion, and those who were Christians were executed. Just several months later in April of 2015, militants from the extremist group attacked Garissa University College, again separating by religion and killing 148, who were predominantly Christian. This attack is considered the nation's worst terrorist attack since the 1998 bombing of the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi.

Modi Again Speaks Out for Religious Freedom in India
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration has been in office for a year now and has again spoken out for religious freedom in India. However, many Indians are still awaiting action from their government as religious intolerance has increased throughout the year, which is being denied by the Modi administration. When Modi was questioned on how he was going to handle party leaders spreading hate, he merely explained what the Indian constitution reads rather than providing a possible resolution. The government's focus was made clear when Modi stated, "Our focal point is clear: jobs, jobs, jobs." Will he take action to ensure religious freedom as well?
- Pray that Prime Minister Modi will act upon what he has been telling the people of India
- Pray for peace and a renewing of strength and grace for our brothers and sisters in India

Boko Haram Stages New Assault on Maiduguri
Boko Haram has been attacking the major city of Maiduguri to not only reestablish their original base of operations, but also for its strategic importance. The city's location provides an advantage which would allow the group to more easily spread throughout Nigeria, as well as infiltrate neighboring countries. Nigeria, Niger, Chad, and Cameroon are aware of this and have combined military forces to stop the group. In the last week 46 civilians have been killed by the group's three failed attempts to infiltrate the city limits. President Muhammadu Buhari said in his inauguration speech that the military headquarters was moving from the capital of Abuja to Maiduguri due to its strategic location in the fight against Boko Haram.

Pakistan Recruits First Christian Woman to National Soccer Team
6/2/2015 Pakistan (Gospel Herald)
Christians account for less than 2 percent of the population with Muslims being the majority, including the sports world, in Pakistan. Pakistani history was made as 17 year old Joyann Geraldine Thomas of Karachi, a Catholic Christian, was recruited by Pakistan to join its women's soccer team. Thomas was inspired by her mother, Joyce Christina, who was a gold medal winner for Pakistan in the 1,500 meter event. However, fear came from this as well, for her mother quit after the discrimination became too much. Despite her mother quitting, 45 deaths in her community, and numerous threats, Thomas is not looking back, but forward toward her dream.

- Pray that Pakistan would rise above intolerance and bring an end to extremism
- Pray for the Lord to continue blessing Joyann as she represents His name and brings hope to Christians in Pakistan
