Report Records at least 7,000 Christian Victims of Persecution in India in 2014

1/21/2015 India (UCA News)

Since the Hindu nationalist BJP and Prime Minister Modi took power in India in May 2014, incidents of Christian persecution have skyrocketed. In a recent report released by the Catholic Secular Forum (CSF) around 7,000 victims of persecution were recorded for the year 2014. Many of the authors of the report expressed concern for India's Christian community and believe that the situation will continue to get worse in 2015 unless the Modi government takes serious action to protect Christians. Many Christians believe this is unlikely due to Modi's Hindu nationalist past and current apathy for the suffering of Christians.
