Chancellor Awards for Diversity 2024

Nominations Now Open Through May 10


The annual Chancellor Awards for Diversity recognize the outstanding efforts of individuals who demonstrate a strong dedication to diversity. Faculty, staff, and student recipients are leaders and pioneers in their respective fields and to the communities in which they serve. Honorees are awarded in four areas: Advancement of Women; Disability Service; Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership; and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Leadership.

Alicia Fernandez, MD, Honored with Distinguished Faculty Award


The UCSF Academic Senate has recognized Alicia Fernandez, MD, with the Spring 2024 Distinction in Mentoring Award. Dr. Fernandez is Professor of Medicine; Associate Dean of Population Health and Health Equity for the UCSF School of Medicine; and founding Director of the UCSF Latinx Center of Excellence.

Gender Recognition and Lived Name Policy Awareness Campaign Seeks UCSF Participants


The UCSF Office of Communications is seeking stories from the UCSF community to feature in an upcoming awareness campaign. The Gender Recognition and Lived Name (GRLN) Policy aims to ensure that all are identified by their accurate gender identity and lived named in UCSF-issued documents and systems.

Celebrate UCSF Diversity Graduation

May 1, 5:30 - 7:00 PM


The annual celebration honors BIPOC, disabled and LGBTQ+ graduates from the Professional Schools and Graduate Divisions. Sponsored by the LGBTQ Resource Center, Multicultural Resource Center, and Disability Resource Center, the event features live music, light refreshments, and photo booth.
