Youth Climate Volunteer needed for 2024-25 School Year

Each HCPSS high school has the opportunity to have a Youth Climate Chapter. OMHS need an adult volunteer to run the program. SFES Brick Fundraiser

Final call to celebrate Stevens Forest Elementary's 50th anniversary with a lasting tribute! 4th grade Community Action Team Bag Collection Project

The SFES 4th grade Community Action Team is working on a project to help the environment by collecting plastic bags. If they collect 1,000 pounds by November 15, the collected plastic will be turned into a bench.


Bring your plastic bags to the large white collection box located in the vestibule outside of the school office, or contact lindsay.m.cox@gmail.com or Valerie Patel at valpatelval@gmail.com to donate. TSES Blessings in a Backpack

TSES Blessings in a Backpack program sends backpacks full of food home each weekend with students experiencing a need. $175 feeds one child every weekend for an entire school year. If you'd like to donate, click HERE.

TSES Sunshine Snack Cart

The TSES Sunshine Committee wants to shower the TSES wonderful staff with treats! Please donate some drinks and/or snacks (individually wrapped). Drop off donations at the front office staff. For cash donations, please bring in a check or money order payable to Talbott Springs Elementary School in an envelope marked Attention Sunshine Committee.

Summer Job Fair

  • June 24, Noon to 4:00 p.m. Wilde Lake Middle School 
  • July 24, Noon to 4:00 p.m. Burleigh Manor Middle School 

HCPSS will host a Summer Job Fair on Monday, June 24 and Wednesday, July 24. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about and apply for a range of positions within the school system. Registration is required.

Kindergarten Registration: OPEN NOW

Parents/guardians of children who will be five on or before September 1, 2024, must enroll their children in kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year. Current HCPSS prekindergarten students do not need to register for kindergarten. More info and registration

Bright Minds Foundation Launches HCPSS Alumni & Friends Network


Bright Minds Foundation, the education foundation of the Howard County Public School System (HCPSS), announces the launch of the HCPSS Alumni & Friends Network. Developed in partnership with HCPSS, this Network is designed to connect alumni, teachers, parents, and community members with ties to Howard County public schools.

Through this Network, members will have the opportunity to:

  • Stay connected or reconnect with former classmates, teachers, and friends.
  • Engage in networking opportunities, reunions, and social events.
  • Contribute to the success of HCPSS students through volunteer and other support opportunities.

HC DrugFree provides resources and education on prevention, treatment, recovery, and health and wellness to help Howard County residents develop knowledge and skills to understand and address behavioral health (substance use and mental health) disorders. HC DrugFree website

Oakland Mills United (OMU) is a community group started by recent OMHS graduates that advocates for the OM community and its schools and offers tutoring and college help. OMCA is a proud partner with OMU.
