Prayer Request

Please hold in prayer the family of Vyrdel Basye as she passed away recently. She was the wife of retired pastor Rev. Jerry Basye who served at Warrensburg and Higginsville. Visitation is at 6pm on June 20, and funeral is at 10:30am on June 21. Both are at First Christian in Warrensburg.

Celebration at Sojourners

Last Tuesday, Sojourners Christian Church (formerly South Joplin Christian Church) closed on the purchase of the Peace Lutheran Church property located at 3100 N. Saint Louis Ave. in Joplin where they have been renting for slightly over a year.

To mark the occasion and to pledge ongoing collaboration in ministry and mission, they held a joint worship service on June 16 with Bishop Susan Candea preaching and Rev. Ron Routledge leading the Litany of Unity in Collaboration and presiding at the Table. Learn more>

Quilters at NACC in July

All are invited to National Avenue CC in Springfield July 12, 13, or 14 for a free presentation of Quilters. The production is described as a patchwork of strength and resilience on stage. Learn more>

As Webster Groves CC prepares to move, they have some items to give away to any congregation who may need them and can pick them up. There are currently choir robes, bell ringer robes, and communion sets available. Other items may become available at a later time. Please contact the church for more information>

Engaging Worship: Multisensory & Accessible

On July 11 from 11-2, First Christian Church in Columbia MO will host a world cafe-style conversation on the multisensory aspects of worship, and how our churches both succeed and struggle with incorporating people of diverse needs and abilities. Notes from this conversation will combine with similar meetings across the country, leading to resources and best practice guides which will be shared back with all participants.
