Rochester, NY– June 26, 2024 – It's the last four days of the CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival 21st Edition. The Wegmans Stage at Parcel 5 opens tonight with headliner Sheila E. and the E Train in a free show at 9 PM. Grupo Ife opens at 7 PM. No tickets are required. Food and beverages are available for purchase. Bring lawn chairs. At Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre, Laufey headlines in a sold-out show at 8 PM. Doors open at 7:15 PM.
A full lineup continues in the 12 Club Pass venues, and free shows will be presented at noon at the Central Library, in the Wegmans Pavilion, on the City of Rochester Jazz Street Stage presented by the Community Foundation, and at 6 PM in the Rochester Regional Health Big Tent. Also, today, David Cowles, RIJF poster artist, will sign this year's posters from 6-8 PM in the Merch Tent.
The Festival continues through Saturday, June 29.

Raised between Reykjavík and Washington, DC, Icelandic-Chinese singer-songwriter Laufey (pron. / lay-vay / ) makes music that is the byproduct of rich cultural heritages and mixed musical influences. Inspired in part by her mother, a classical violinist, Laufey took up piano and cello early on. But it wasn't until deep-diving into her father's record collection, consisting of jazz artists Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday, that she launched into her musical journey. Read more | |

Hilario Durán
The Cuban-born pianist grew up in a musical family surrounded by a variety of diverse musical influences on a daily basis. He has toured worldwide and performed with Dizzy Gillespie and Michel Legrand, among many others, as part of Arturo Sandoval’s band, where he was pianist/keyboardist, arranger, and musical director for nine years.
