On behalf of the Board of Directors and leadership team of the Atlantic Legal Foundation (“ALF”), Chairman & President H. Dan Fisk reports:
“We are delighted to announce the election and engagement of Nicholas Klitzing (“Nick”) as the Vice President – External Affairs of ALF with his election by ALF’s Board of Directors at a special meeting held earlier this month . . . welcome to our leadership team, Nick. We are especially pleased to introduce Nick to ALF’s steadfast and prospective supporters who we expect will grow under Nick’s leadership. ALF’s mission in promoting free enterprise, sound science, effective education, limited responsible government, property rights, personal liberties, and the rule of law under our Constitution resonates with Nick, who has an infectious enthusiasm and optimistic perspective for helping ALF grow in recognition and support for its many successes in the pursuit of its mission.”
Nick is a tested public affairs and communications professional with nearly 20 years of experience at the intersection of public affairs, communications, law, and government. He has earned the trust of corporate executives, philanthropists, and high-ranking elected officials for his ability to achieve strategic objectives by activating grassroots networks, framing compelling media narratives, and leading record-breaking fundraising campaigns to support issue advocacy efforts.
He has extensive experience in his home state of Illinois, where he served as Executive Director and Special Counsel for the Illinois Republican Party, Deputy Campaign Manager & Special Counsel for former Governor Bruce Rauner, and a senior team member on multiple statewide, Congressional, and issue advocacy campaigns.
A licensed attorney, Nick served as a prosecutor in St. Clair County, Illinois, early in his career, trying multiple Felony cases and rising to the position of supervisor of the Juvenile Unit of the Children’s Justice Division. During law school, Nick served as a part-time law clerk for Illinois Supreme Court Justice Lloyd Karmeier. Nick has also worked for Senator John McCain and Governor Mitt Romney’s presidential campaigns and as a program assistant at the International Republican Institute, a nonpartisan, nongovernmental organization that promotes democracy worldwide where McCain served as Chairman for 25 years.
