FIELD TRIP TO OUR LADY OF FATIMA

It has become a tradition for Pope St. John XXIII STEM Academy students and staff to take part in Field Day at Our Lady of Fatima School in Seattle. This year, field day at OLOF will take place on Monday, June 10th. Please take note of the following reminders about Field Day at Our Lady of Fatima:

• Students in grades K - 7th will be transported to the Seattle location and back by bus. Every student needs a signed permission slip to attend.
• We are not asking for parent volunteers at this time. Our Lady of Fatima School has staff and volunteers for this event.  
• This will be a free dress day. Students may wear their PSJSTEM shirts, or school colors (variations of blue and green), or any free dress shirt. Please wear pants or shorts and shoes that are appropriate for athletic activity and that follow the uniform policy guidelines for free dress.
• A hot dog lunch with sides will be provided. Students can bring a cold lunch if they do not want the hot dog lunch.
• Please make sure your child brings a water bottle and that it is labeled with their name.
• The buses will be leaving soon after 8:15AM. Please be on time so you don’t miss the bus!

Pope St. John XXIII STEM Academy will be having our own field day for PK4-7th grades, taking place on Thursday, June 20th. We are asking for parent volunteers for this day. Please see the message from PTO that includes a link for the volunteer sign up. There is more information about this exciting event coming soon!

PACKING VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

With the interior of the school being painted and summer projects starting soon, teachers and staff are asking for help with packing classrooms. Please reach out to your child's classroom teacher to arrange a time to help, or contact Mr. Nuno or Ms. Kelli to help with the other various places that need to be packed.

WEEKEND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for helpers who can help out with woodworking on Saturday and Sunday for the next couple of weeks from 10AM - 3PM. One of our school family members is an accomplished craftsman and is leading an effort to refurbish our handrails as well as a variety of other wood projects inside our K-8 school building. Volunteers will be sandpapering and scraping, removing paint from stained surfaces and scuffing finish around doors so they can be recoated. Supplies will be provided but if you can bring your own masks, gloves, knee pads, or other types of things to help you with the work it might be helpful.  Please no kids or young student volunteers for the time being. Middle school students may help out. Volunteer hours can be applied to your 2023-24 hours, or next year’s hours. Please email Marc Nuno at nunom@psjstem.org or Kelli Bostwick at bostwickk@sjstem.org if you are able to help out. 

SPRING FORMAL DANCE

We are excited to announce the Spring Formal Dance, and we warmly invite all students in grades 4th - 8th to join us for a night filled with fun and friends!

Date: Saturday, June 8th

Time: 6PM - 8PM

Location: Upper Hall

Dress Code: Formal attire is encouraged. Students are welcome to wear dresses, suits, or any semi-formal attire they feel comfortable in.

Highlights: Live DJ and music, refreshments and snacks.

Cost: $10 per student. Permission slips and payment turned in at the door.

FAMILY BINGO NIGHT

Join us for Family Bingo Night tomorrow, Friday, June 7th from 5PM - 7PM in the Lower Hall! The cost is $15 per family or $5 per person. Win prizes for adults and kids, and enjoy pizza and a drink for only $2!
