Centennial Voices:  Rev. Dr. William J. Carl III, Senior Pastor

A hundred years ago this church was going through a transition from being part of South Highland Presbyterian Church to birthing a new congregation. I can only imagine how surprised those founding fathers and mothers would be seeing where IPC is today!  A century later we begin again with a new start and a new transition. Because of that I feel a kinship with Henry Edmonds and pray that God will bless our time together in the coming months and years as we continue the journey begun long ago by the Providence of God. Please join me in giving thanks to God for those who have gone before us on whose shoulders we now stand -- that great cloud of witnesses that is compassed about us. To God be the glory!

Gracious God, help us to be renewed in our life in Christ, trusting that you have included us by grace in the family of faith.
Preparing for Worship

Prayer of Preparation:   Give me, O my Lord, that purity of conscience which alone can receive your inspirations. You alone can quicken my hearing and purge my sight, and cleanse and renew my heart. Teach me to sit at your feet and to hear your word. Amen.

Volunteer Opportunities for new procedures in Food Pantry
Currently, the IPC Food Pantry needs food donations! Shelves are nearly bare.

IPC Food Pantry Needs Food.
Please remember to bring
food items when you come to
the church.
Thanks for all your help!
The IPC food pantry is going through a process of change to improve the way we serve those who come to us for food assistance. In doing so we are adding some ways that members of the congregation can volunteer to help.
As always, we appreciate those who buy and donate food specifically for the pantry, those who host dinner or birthday parties and ask for food donations in lieu of presents, those who sponsor food drives through their workplace or their organization, and those who gather food from the designated drop off locations and restock the shelves.
Starting in mid-July, we will need volunteers to
   1) Serve as hosts to take recipients, one at a time, into the pantry and assist them in making their own selections of food versus our previous method of handing them a bag of food that we filled.
    2) We will also be offering coffee and pastries/cookies while recipients are waiting for their turn in the Food Pantry and will need volunteers to oversee this process of hospitality.

If you would like to get involved in the food pantry in any of these ways, please contact Annette Carter, Susan Clayton, or Chris Walker in Community Ministries.
Thanks for all your help!
