The Numbers Are In: Trump’s Tax Cuts Paid Off
The Congressional Budget Office’s May 2022 forecast shows that the government now expects to bring in more tax revenue in the decade following the 2017 “Trump tax cuts” than it had projected prior to the December 2017 passage of tax reform.
It doesn’t look like the tax cuts—which government scorekeepers said at the time would cost $1.5 trillion over 10 years—have been anything like the fiscal nightmare that some on the left would lead us to believe.
In March, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., called the 2017 Trump tax cuts a $2 trillion “GOP tax scam.”
Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., accused Republicans of hypocrisy for supporting the tax cuts but opposing Congress’ massive spending spree.

Soros Prosecutors Run Half of America’s Largest Jurisdictions
The Democratic megadonor has backed 75 so-called justice reform prosecutors through direct contributions, PACs, and other third-party entities, the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund revealed in a June report. Though many had little prosecutorial experience when elected, they represent 72 million Americans in some of the nation's most populous municipalities. Ten Soros prosecutors, including Philadelphia district attorney Larry Krasner (D.) and Los Angeles district attorney George Gascon (D.), received $13 million in just the last four years, going on to win races where they had vastly outraised their competition—sometimes by as much as 90 percent. In each race, Soros was the single greatest donor to the campaign.

Soros Spent $40 Million To Elect 75 Social Justice Warrior Prosecutors
Sky-high campaign donations from liberal anti-police billionaire George Soros and his groups have helped to elect 75 “social justice” prosecutors in whose cities jailings have plummeted and crime has surged, according to a new report provided to Secrets.
In a 17-page report compiled by the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund, a decade of spending has put Soros prosecutors in enough big cities that they represent 1 in 5 people, or about 72 million. That includes about half of America’s 50 most populous cities and counties where 40% of U.S. homicides occur.
Soros is a well-known proponent of social justice prosecution, which calls for lighter sentences, especially of minorities. The movement, however, has led to higher crime in some cities and has been decried by pro-law-and-order conservatives.

Gray Dismay: A Strategy to Identify and Counter Gray-Zone Threats in the South China Sea
The current state of American military dominance signals credibility of force but also diverts adversaries’ efforts from conventional war to ambiguous threats below the threshold of war—so-called gray-zone threats. Regrettably, such tactics in the gray zone are on course to proliferate as adversaries largely acknowledge conventional overmatch with the United States. Rather than risk political harm and potentially massive losses in traditional war, competitors will take actions in the gray zone to counter American influence and authority through non-military measures that erode the legitimacy that the United States has cultivated since the Second World War. Unquestionably, these measures are challenges to American national security. Left unchecked, they will diminish American dominance and the United States will slowly concede its authority and good will.
The People’s Republic of China poses the most substantial global threat to American security interests as Chinese actors tighten their grip on maritime features in the South China Sea to the exclusion of neighboring states. This is one of the key problems of our day: reining in Chinese expansionism while bolstering ally efforts to stand their ground and promote regional stability. The United States can most effectively counter Chinese gray-zone tactics by strengthening international legal agreements and response obligations with allies in the Indo-Pacific region. In practice, this means focusing on bilateral defense treaties—turning first to our treaty with the Philippines, as the oldest American security alliance in the Indo-Pacific—to increase readiness, draw clear lines in the sand, and offer peace of mind to long-time partners. Stronger ties and clearer commitments will build the foundation for assurances that China will not trample neighbors’ sovereign rights or maritime entitlements; if China attempts to do so, the United States will steadfastly support its allies.

Biden and His Demos Unleashed a Record Surge in Mass Violence
There was an unprecedented spike in murders nationwide in 2020, which spilled over into 2021 and 2022. John Adams, who would soon surrender the presidency to Thomas Jefferson, ventured up to Capitol Hill on Nov. 22, 1800, to deliver the first-ever in-person presidential address in the not-yet-finished home of the United States Congress.

Hollywood actually stands up to China, and it pays off big
These days we’re so used to seeing story after story about Hollywood caving to China and choosing the billions they make off the Chinese masses over their own morals, that it’s genuinely surprising when Hollywood makes the correct decision and stands up to China. Yet we’ve seen multiple examples of just such a phenomenon lately, and it’s time to give credit where it’s due.
The Chinese government recently demanded that Sony scrub the Statue of Liberty from its film, “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” because the CCP deemed the statue “too patriotic.” Sony declined and the film went on to garner nearly $1.9 billion in worldwide box office revenue, making it the sixth highest-grossing film of all time, despite the fact that it was banned in China.

The Washington Post Is a Model for Media Malfeasance
The Washington Post has had a rough week.
On Monday, the Post suspended one of its reporters, Dave Weigel, for a month without pay after he retweeted a joke last week that some of his colleagues thought was sexist.
Felicia Sonmez, the national political reporter at the Post, then tweeted her distaste at the joke, which led to the witch hunt against Weigel.
The Post, once a bastion for free speech, quickly zeroed in on Weigel for having the audacity to retweet a joke it found problematic.

The Indictment of Navarro is Unconstitutional
The indictment of Peter Navarro for contempt of Congress violates several provisions of the Constitution and should be dismissed. Navarro has a strong claim of executive privilege that should be decided by the courts before any indictment can lawfully issue.
Either the Justice Department or Congress should seek a judicial ruling that Navarro's claim of executive privilege is invalid. If the court rules that it is invalid and orders him to respond to the congressional subpoena, Navarro should have an opportunity to comply. If he fails to comply with a judicial order, he can either be indicted or held in contempt by the court. But absent a judicial order, he cannot lawfully be indicted for invoking executive privilege and refusing to reveal arguably privileged material just because a committee of Congress, controlled by Democrats, has voted .....
