Neighbors in Need Special Mission Offering

In 2024, the Neighbors in Need theme is “Mental Health Justice For All!” This year’s focus is on Mental Health Justice. In 2015, the General Synod of the United Church of Christ passed a resolution to become WISE (Welcoming, Inclusive, Supportive, and Engaged) for mental health.  A just world for all is a world where the human rights and well-being of people with mental health challenges are respected, no matter who you are or where you are in life’s mental health journey.

Please join us in promoting this year’s NIN “Mental Health is a Universal Human Right” campaign at your church.  As you may recall, one-third of the offering supports Council for American Indian Ministry (CAIM). Two-thirds are used by Justice and Witness Ministries to provide grants to UCC churches and organizations as well as supporting a variety of justice initiatives, advocacy efforts, and direct service projects.

We will be celebrating and consecrating the Neighbors in Need Offering on Sunday, 9/22. You can write a check to the Church or put cash in an envelope with a note that references "NIN". Check out more details at UCC.ORG and learn much more! Thanks for your support and generosity.

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

You have an opportunity to work for peace in our world and in our communities through nonviolent action. Collaborate with UCC friends from across New Hampshire. There is a place for you - to work for a Ceasefire in Gaza, Gun Violence Prevention and to promote Just Peace Churches. For more information about the NHCUCC Peace with Justice Advocates Mission Group, contact Janet Zeller at janet.zeller@gmail.com.

Thank you to the Powerhouse Theater Collaborative

for sharing your talents with us last Sunday!

Rev. Scott Jamieson and members of the Church of Another

Chance will offer a presentation about this impactful group that meets

weekly in our Outreach Center. From their website:

“We’re one of just two US churches dedicated to helping

incarcerated and recently released individuals from a county jail.

We offer unconditional love, believing it comes from God. We

encourage them to recognize their worth and that they’re not

defined by their past actions. Our guidance leads them to good

health and a joy-filled life.”

Go to their website at Church of Another Chance to learn more and then join us on September 26th!
