Praise in Sorrow
My wife and I recently lost her stepfather to pulmonary fibrosis shortly after his 88th birthday. As we mourn the loss, I'm comforted by Paul's appeal that we "sorrow not as those which have no hope."
We mourn not for eternal loss but for the present loss, we feel. In Christ, we have hope that will not disappoint and are confident that we will see Bill again at Jesus' return! *
Nearly every day, someone in Michigan loses a family member or friend. Do they have this confident hope that our family experiences? Do we see God's providence in the final days of a loved one's life? How many consider the words of Isa 57:1, which invite us to consider God's mercy: "The righteous perish, and no man lays it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil [to come]."
Friends, the Truth (Jesus and His word) sets you free. You and I are called to witness to the world that Jesus is the way of life everlasting, and in His power, we can be forgiven and free from sin's grasp.
Declare to the world that the first death has no power over us but is a sleep from which we shall awaken to life everlasting.
God has raised up and continues growing Strong Tower Radio as a tool in your hand to help proclaim God's true character and set the prisoner free. Thank you for giving Michigan listeners and the world the everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ day after day: lives are being transformed and set free by the power of Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth, the Life.
