ANDY REGINALD RECOGNIZED AS OUTSTANDING SENIOR

On Friday April 26, Andy Reginald was recognized as an Outstanding Senior, along with 32 others in the metro area, at the West Omaha Rotary meeting held at Champion’s Run.

Accompanying Andy was his mother, father, and Head of School, Mrs. Krehbiel. Congratulations, Andy!

CONGRATULATIONS TO KEZIAH PRAKASH!

Congratulations to 8th Grader, Keziah Prakash!  She was OCA's 8th Grade Omaha Rotary Club Student of the Year. Keziah was honored at the April 30th Rotary Luncheon at the CHI Center along with other 8th graders from local schools. Keziah's teachers nominated her because of her academic success and positive attitude.

Keziah is the daughter of Prakash and Carmel Rajobose. Congratulations, Keziah!

OCA SERVICE DAY

Our first annual OCA Service Day was a great success! Our students allowed God to use them in powerful ways as they served the broken and needy in our area at Open Door Mission, Sienna Francis House and the neighborhood around Imago Dei Church.

We are so proud of the way they represented Christ and truly lived out the words of 1 John 3:18, “Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” 

Ted & Connie Henkenius Scholarship

The Ted & Connie Henkenius Scholarship is a $500 scholarship for an OCA senior who is attending a trade school, college, or university after high school graduation. 

Essay Requirements: 

• Do not include your name in or on your essay
• Maximum page length - 3 single-sided pages
• Times New Roman 12 point font
• Double spaced
• 1” margins
• Must answer all prompt questions

Prompt Questions:

1. What are your goals after high school graduation?
2. How will this scholarship help you achieve your goals?
3. How will attending a trade school, college, or university help you give back to your community?

Essays are due by 4:00 PM on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

SPORTS PHYSICALS & NSAA FORMS DUE

The time has arrived for sports physicals and NSAA forms to be renewed for the 2024 - 2025 school year.

If you have a student coming into 7th - 12th grade that would like to participate in sports this coming season, now is the time to renew their eligibility.

Forms must be turned in before the beginning of the school year so that student-athletes participating in sports next year are able to participate.

Forms are available for pickup in the office.

MS/HS SPRING BAND AND VOCAL CONCERTS

Middle School Spring Concert (Band and Vocal)

Monday, May 6 at 7:00 PM

• All students who are performing should be at school by 6:30 PM.
• Band students should wear band uniform of black pants, long black socks and OCA band polo. 
• Choir students should wear all black. 
• Intermediate Band will be playing with the Middle School Band.

High School Spring Concert (Band and Vocal)

Tuesday, May 7 at 7:00 PM

• All students who are performing should be at school by 6:30 PM.
• Dress is all black: black pants, long black socks, black shirt, buttoned with collar.

EARLY CHILDHOOD FIELD DAY

Early Childhood students will be participating in Field Day on Tuesday, May 14 at the Early Childhood Campus.

We need volunteers! Volunteers are needed from 9:00-11:00 AM to help with running stations. Please see the volunteer sign-up link.

OCA BENEFIT MOVIE EVENT

When: May 17, 2024

Where: Omaha Community Playhouse

Time: 7:00 PM

Movie: Raiders of the Lost Ark

Featured Guest: Ben Mankiewicz

On May 17th, Raiders of the Lost Ark will be shown at the Omaha Community Playhouse courtesy of Bruce Crawford, film historian. The featured guest will be Ben Mankiewicz, the weekend host of Turner Classic Movies.
