NEW TEACHERS AT OCA!

We are very blessed and excited about God’s provision in bringing us new teachers. Let’s welcome them!

MRS. KANTOR – PRE-K

My name is Sarah Kantor and I LOVE JESUS! I'm excited to be the Pre-K teacher at OCA! I have 4 children (Alyvia - 6th; Jackson - 5th; William - 3rd; Hannah - 1st) who go to OCA. My husband, Nick, & I have been married for 16 years and have called Bennington home since 2022. I'm so happy to be back in the classroom and I can't wait to watch each child grow in so many ways! Here's to a wonderful year in Pre-K and at OCA!

SHAYLEE REED - PE, HEALTH & ANATOMY/PHYSIOLOGY

Hello! My name is Shaylee Reed, and I will be teaching secondary health and physical education here at OCA. I graduated from UNK in the spring of this year with a PK-12 Health and Physical Education degree. I just recently got engaged and will be getting married on December 28th of this year. I love going on walks/runs with my fiancé, spending time with my 2 nieces, and anything that has to do with fall… watching football, cooler weather, colors changing, pumpkin spice candles, you name it! As an educator, I want to build up confident servant leaders who begin to grow in their abilities of living a healthy and active lifestyle while seeking to show Christ in everything they say, think, and do. Omaha Christian Academy not only allows me to do this openly but supports and encourages me throughout the process. I am extremely blessed for this opportunity and can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for this school year.

MRS. NOTTNAGEL – 1st GRADE

My name is Brittany Nottnagel and I am so excited to be a part of the OCA family this year teaching First Grade. I am married to my husband, Jerry, and together we have two boys, Brogan and Judson. I teach because it brings me so much joy serving and loving on God’s children! I believe my purpose is to try and make a positive difference in each of my students lives whether it’s big or small. I do it for the “ah ha” moments, smiles, and relationships I build with my students. Cheering my students to success and celebrating their achievements are the things that I cherish as a teacher. I am their advocate! At the end of the day, the thing that matters most to me is that my students know that God loves them, I love them, and that they matter. I look forward to loving and teaching your child this school year.

MS. FEES – ELEMENTARY MUSIC

Greetings! My name is Jennifer Fees and I am the current elementary music teacher at Omaha Christian Academy. I have previously taught K-12 vocal music, 5-12 instrumental music, and directed various drama productions in the Northeast Nebraska Area. I have also taught privately as a piano teacher and served as a piano accompanist for various vocal and instrumental ensembles. I am a 2020 graduate of Wayne State College, where I majored in PK-12 Vocal/Instrumental Music. During my time at WSC, I performed in various vocal and instrumental ensembles. I have also served various officer positions for the collegiate chapters of the Kappa Kappa Psi Honorary Band Fraternity. When I am not teaching, I am performing. I am a clarinetist for the Blair Area Community Band and perform on keyboard for the Passageway Church worship team in Blair, Nebraska.  I am extremely excited to back in the community that I grew up and I am thrilled to share my love for elementary music within a Christ-centered learning environment.

MRS. BALDRIDGE – HS ENGLISH

I am SJ Baldridge and this is my 34th year in education! I will be teaching the high school language arts classes. I grew up in northeast Nebraska and graduated from Wayne State College. I earned my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane College. My teaching experience spans three decades in York County and includes teaching Language Arts classes from grades 7-12. I have also taught a dual-credit Speech class and a 6th grade STEAM class. I taught at Westside Middle School the past two years. Throughout my teaching career I have coordinated FCA huddles as I have a strong desire to help students be grounded in the Word and their relationship with the Almighty. My husband is Kevin, and we have four adult children who all live in Omaha as well. I am excited to be a part of the OCA family!

MRS. REID (DÉJÀ VU) - MS ENGLISH

My favorite Tim Keller quote is “I’m a lot worse off than I think I am, and a lot more loved than I’ll ever know I am.” How blessed I am to be working at Omaha Christian Academy. After seven years, I took a one-year sabbatical to travel. I am now returning to OCA to teach Middle School Language Arts, Personal Communications and Drama. Mr. Reid and I have watched our 4 sons cross the OCA graduation stage and I am thrilled to see more students achieve their potential as they are educated in light of biblical truth.

MR. DEVEREAUX – CAMPUS PASTOR & BIBLE

My name is Tanner Devereaux, and I will be the Campus Pastor and Bible Teacher here at OCA this year! I'm from a small town in Southern Missouri. I've been married to my wife Naomi going on four years. We have two amazing and wild boys that are two years and five months. We are in the early stages of planting a church, Imago Dei, in Midtown Omaha. I love to hunt, fish, golf, and build!

MR. PETERSON - SOCIAL STUDIES

Hello! My name is Jason Peterson, and I am excited to begin my first year of teaching at OCA. I will be teaching 7th grade through 10th grade social studies this school year. I am from Papillion, NE and recently graduated from UNO with a degree in secondary education in May. Outside of teaching I can be found fishing at the lake, riding my bike, golfing, and spending time with friends and family. I also enjoy watching the Chicago Cubs and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. I’m looking forward to meeting you and your student and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for this school year!

MRS. BRADY - 5th GRADE

Hi, my name is Kim Brady, and I am teaching one of the Fifth Grade classes this year. My professional experience includes teaching students in every grade from first through sixth, with experience in public schools, private schools, and homeschooling. On the personal side, I have been married to my wonderful husband Tim for 36 years, and we have three grown children, two amazing daughters-in-law, and four adorable grandchildren with one more due late August. After a couple of years on the other side of education writing curriculum, I am very excited to be serving at Omaha Christian Academy this year and back to teaching in the classroom.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up

DROP-OFF & PICK-UP

All parents should have received drop-off and pick-up directions. We have these procedures set up to help the flow of traffic, for the safety of our students and yourself, and to be respectful to the community members around our school.

In the past we have had parents park on the road west of our parking lot or parked in the parking lot behind the school. These are NOT options for either drop-off or pick-up. The parking lot is a private parking lot that we do not have permission to be in and there are no parking signs posted along the road.

Please help us in following these procedures to ensure the safety of all and be respectful of the community members around our school. Thanks!
