PARENT'S NIGHT OUT



When: August 31, 2024

Time: 5:00 - 8:00 PM

Where: Marshall Baptist Church (4845 Marshall Drive)

Cost: $30 for first child, $25 each additional child

Deadline to Register: August 30 at 5:00 PM

Do you need a night out or want a little break from your kiddos? We have just the thing for you! Bring your kiddos out for a night of pizza, games, and quality time with the OCA cheer team. We are raising funds to go towards our Orlando, Florida All American Trip where we will perform during the Thanksgiving parade at Disney. We look forward to seeing their eager faces and are ready to have a good time!

MAP TESTING



Our Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) testing is just around the corner for our 2nd through 12th grade students! Our students test 3 times per year in an effort to track their academic progress. Our teachers use the data from the tests to tailor classroom instruction to meet academic needs.

Our first round of testing will be September 6-13, 2024. Please note the specific testing dates below for each grade level:

• Middle School & High School students will take the math portion of their test during their Math classes on Monday, September 8th and Tuesday, September 9th. 

• Middle School & High School students will take the reading portion of their test during their English classes on Wednesday, September 11, Thursday, September 12, and Friday, September 13. 

• 2nd grade: Friday, September 6 (9:00-10:30 AM), Thursday, September 12 (8:30-10:00 AM), Friday, September 13 (8:30-10:00 AM)

• 3rd grade: Friday, September 6 (9:00-10:30 AM), Thursday, September 12 (8:30-10:00 AM), Friday, September 13 (8:30-10:00 AM)

• 4th grade: Wednesday, September 11 (9:00-10:30 AM), Thursday, September 12 (10:15-11:45 AM), Friday, September 13 (10:15-11:45 AM)

• 5th grade: Monday, September 9 (8:30-10:00 AM), Tuesday, September 10 (8:30-10:00 AM), Wednesday, September 11 (9:00-10:30 AM)

• Make-Up Testing for all grades will be held on Monday, September 16 from 8:15-10:45 AM



PARENT & SENIOR CLASS MEETING



We are having a Parent Senior Class Meeting on Monday September 16th 6:00-6:35. Please meet in Room 181. We will be discussing the Senior trip, fundraising and signups for help with HOCO.

HOMECOMING WEEK



OCA will be celebrating Homecoming Week September 30 - October 4.

Activities will include:

• Themed dress-up days
• Cold treats for elementary students
• MS/HS Tailgate Party
• All-school pep rally
• Friday night football game (with festivities!)

We look forward to celebrating OCA and how God is blessing our school!

• 9/14/24 @ 12:00 pm - Lions Away vs St. Patrick's Angels at Mt Michael Elkhorn

• 9/22/24 @ 2:00 pm - Lions Away vs JR. Pride at Roncalli 

Followed by a tournament game in Week 6 and 7, more information to come.

We welcome parents, guardians, and grandparents of students from any grade level to volunteer at our home Volleyball and Football games.

WHAT YOU GET: We offer free entrance into the games and a treat from the concession stand for all of our volunteers.
