Rae's Yarn Boutique
Lets Go to the Hop!
Greetings!

What a long day! I just got back from dinner and am ready to relax. Today we prepped, decorated, and I think had as much fun at the party as the guests. We danced, ate yummy deserts, and coveted much of the yarns and other goodies our guests brought in.

Then tomorrow morning we'll be setting up for the remainder of the party this weekend. It's our 8th anniversary and we plan to have a enjoy it & share the fun with you!

Yarns Of the Month - April 2012
Lotus Yarns - Autumn Wind

Snapdragon

Autumn Wind may be the last yarn you ever need. It's light and soft, a perfect year-around yarn. For Spring and Summer knit light shawls and shells. Then it moves seamlessly into those fashionable cowls and vests for Fall. It even makes beautiful layering sweaters to help keep you toasty in mid-winter. The cashmere takes the stiffness out of the cotton, so even those of us who usually hate knitting cotton are finding this yarn very easy on the fingers. The yarn is even machine-washable to boot making it a great easy-care yarn for gift giving or for baby garments.

Lotus Yarns: Newly available here in the States, Lotus yarns have been available for years in Europe and Asia. Actually many of us have used their yarns without knowing it, Lotus is the house brand from the mill that makes Noro, Debbie Bliss, and Louisa Harding yarns.

Lotus

Although the mill may be familiar their line of Lotus yarns are unique and feature many exotic fibers; Mink, Yak, Cashmere, Silk, Cotton, and Merino Wool can all be found in our first shipment!

LotusAutumn Wind

Cotton/Cashmere sport weight for great summer knits! This yarn is so soft & it's machine washable making it a wonderful choice for babies and kids-wear.

The 16 color palette features colors for spring & summer.

LotusMiya

Miya features a unique blend of 70% Mink, 20% Merino, and 10% Silk making it both soft and drapey. Miya is a light fingering/heavy lace weight. I think it would be best in lace items where the mink can really bloom to it's full potential.

Winter Sun Aran

Winter Sun Aran fills the hole left by the recently discontinued Berroco Pure Wool Aran. This is a springy, bouncy Superwash Merino with an Italian Twist. We are stocking the full range of 20 colors & made sure to order plenty of each so you would have enough for sweaters, baby blankets, and kids garments.

LotusTibetan Yak 3

This yarn may not look like much in the photograph, but just wait till you sink your fingers into a skein of this. Yak down is incredibly soft and warm. This time around we've ordered the Sport/DK weight. I think any man would love to receive something made from this yarn. Scarves, gloves, hats, or maybe even a vest or sweater would be a nice choice.
