Our New Online Event Calendar is Live!

We are excited to announce the launch of our new online calendar! The old calendar has been discontinued, but the new version offers a more user-friendly experience! You can now:

  • Easily filter by audience & age type.
  • Browse the calendar using different view options, including week-by-week, monthly, and a full list of all upcoming events. All calendar views are now compatible with your smartphone!
  • Register for events easily, including group registration features.
  • Coming in the future: appointment booking for notary services!
  • And more!

Adult Summer Reading Game

Now through September 1

Looking to read more this summer? Stop by the Library to pick up a summer reading game board, or download one here.



Throughout the summer, complete the activities and return your completed gameboard to the Library by September 1 to be entered into a raffle to win a reading themed prize! Completed gameboards can be returned to the Library or emailed to staff@marlborolibrary.org.

Vet2Vet Coffee Hour

Fridays, 1:30-2:30 p.m.

July 5, 12, 19, 26

Organized in collaboration with Vet2Vet of Ulster County and the Hudson Valley Center for Veteran Reintegration (HVNCVR), this Veteran Coffee Hour aims to provide a safe and welcoming space for veterans to connect, share experiences, and find support. Whether recently discharged or a seasoned veteran, all are welcome to attend and engage in meaningful conversations over a cup of coffee.

Registration is not required. Walk-ins welcome.

Ulster County Office for the Aging

Lunch & Learn for Seniors: Medicare 101

Tuesday, July 9, 12:00-2:00 p.m.

Learn all about Medicare during this lecture presented by Bob Meci, UCOFA Health Insurance Coordinator. This program is free to all Ulster County seniors age 60 and over and includes a free lunch.

Participants must register by July 1st by calling the Ulster County Office for the Aging at 845-340-3456. In order for the Office to have the correct number of lunches, this event is registration only.

MFL Walking Club

Wednesday, July 10 & 24, 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Weather permitting

Connect with the outdoors and your neighbors as we walk! Meeting locations will be posted one week prior to each session. RSVP to be notified in the event of inclement weather.

MFL Hook & Needle

Knitting & Crocheting Group

Select Mondays, 6:00-7:30 p.m.

July 8, 15, 22 & 29

The Library will be holding an informal meetup on select Mondays, from 6:00-7:30 p.m., where knitting and crocheting enthusiasts can come together, socialize, share tips, and work on projects together.



Please keep in mind that while this meetup will provide a supportive space for knitting and crocheting, it will be self-led, and guided instructions and supplies will not be provided at this time. Walk-ins welcome.

The Art & Craft of Poetry

A Poetry Writing Workshop

with Linda McCauley Freeman

Thursday, August 1, 6:30–8:30 p.m.

How does a poet get from a poem’s beginning to its end? How do we use images to express emotion? How do we shape the poems on the page? These are just some of the questions we will address with a close look at the work of contemporary poets, then we will use what we discover to jump-start your own work with writing prompts and feedback.
