Parenting Educator/Family Advocacy Certificate of Achievement at Cuesta College

Are you a family advocate, parent educator, or other staff working to strengthen families? A new Cuesta College certificate in Child Development and Family Studies prepares students and professionals for employment in the Family Strengthening field and provides additional education for those already working in the field. Just four courses earns a certificate! The four courses can be completed over 1-4 years and they build credit towards earning an AA.

New Mobile Health Clinic

The Center for Health & Prevention (The Center) is now operating a new Mobile Health Clinic. The clinic provides reproductive and sexual health services to parents of young children and others of all genders and accepts Medi-Cal. Services are offered in English and Spanish and are also available to those without insurance or documentation.

Parent & Child Learning Pods in Grover Beach

Parents of young children are telling us they need more connection and social support. This South County parent and child participation Learning Pod series provides skills to improve bonding and healthy development for children 0-5 years old while offering parents a supportive group of adults.


April 10 - May 23, 2024

7 sessions for each Learning Pod

Space is still available in the follow Pods:

  • Babies 0 - 12 months old
  • Toddlers 3 - 5 years old

The group is offered in English and snacks are provided. Families with children ages 0 - 5 from anywhere in SLO County are welcome.

Learn, Play & Socialize at Paso Robles Support Group

For North County parents looking for more connection, Play With Me! is an in-person support group for parents and caregivers with children ages 0-4 in Paso Robles. Adults and children participate together with a focus on play, crafts, and fun learning.



Monday 4/15, 5/20 & 6/17

6 - 7:30 p.m. at the CAPSLO Family Resource Center, 704 Spring Street in Paso Robles.

This pilot group is offered monthly in English only for now. Families with children ages 0 - 4 from anywhere in SLO County are welcome.

Virtual Workshops for Parents with Young Children

Learn With Me! is a monthly, bi-lingual, virtual workshop series to support SLO County parents and caregivers with children ages 0-3. Sessions provide practical information about child development, healthy sleep habits, potty training and more!
