NEW IN THE ILLINOIS MEDICAL DISTRICT: APRIL 2019
FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Earlier this month, the IMD was privileged to host the 2019 Leadership Greater Chicago Fellows program for one of its its First Friday sessions. The topic at this month's session was Crime and Violence. The event included a tour of the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, a panel on the costs of crime and violence and an address from Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx.
Those who have the chance to participate in the Fellows program gain perspective and knowledge about creating meaningful change in the Chicagoland area. From the LGC website:

"Fellows seek to better understand the systems that influence how Chicago and the region function, as well as how an individual's personal values, biases, and approaches to working with others can shape their impact and the outcomes they achieve"

I'm honored to be a member of the 2019 Class of Leadership Fellows, and I look forward to applying these invaluable lessons to our work here at the IMD.
